Personal — €25, one time

The Personal plan is a one-time €25 purchase. You pay once and use Lazytype for as long as you like — there is no subscription attached, no renewal date, and no feature gate. It includes everything: hold-to-talk dictation in 100+ languages, realtime preview, voice macros, context-aware tone, AI clean-up, translation, voice commands, the offline on-device engine, and the statistics dashboard, on both Windows 10/11 and macOS 12+.

The one thing you bring yourself is a Groq API key — the account that actually runs the Whisper large-v3-turbo transcription. Creating one is free and Lazytype guides you through it during onboarding (more on that below). Because you hold the key, your transcription runs on your own free Groq quota rather than through Lazytype's servers.

Pro — €5 per month

The Pro plan is for people who don't want to think about API keys at all. Lazytype hosts the transcription: you install the app, start the trial, and dictate. Nothing to create, nothing to paste, nothing to configure. Feature-wise it is identical to Personal — same engines, same languages, same macros, same offline mode.

What does "bring your own Groq key" mean?

Groq is the inference provider that runs OpenAI's Whisper large-v3-turbo model at roughly 216× real-time speed — it's why a short sentence comes back in under a second. A Groq API key is a free account credential that lets an app (in this case, your copy of Lazytype) send audio to Groq for transcription.

Getting one takes about two minutes and Lazytype's onboarding walks you through every step: you create a free account at console.groq.com/keys, generate a key, and paste it into Lazytype once. That's the entire setup. Groq's free tier is generous enough for most personal dictation use, so a typical Personal-plan user pays €25 once and nothing after that.

What three years of dictation costs

Most dictation tools are subscription-only. Wispr Flow charges around $14 per month, Superwhisper $9–15 per month. That's fine for a month; it adds up over the years you actually use a tool you like. Here's the same three years, side by side:

Refund policy
